The Gift of Psalms

The Word of Promise: The Gift of Psalms is an awesome book/cd combo.

The book is beautiful! I was stunned the first time I saw it. The cover is beautiful. Inside, the pages are awesome. It is a great quality of devotional book. The layout of the book has one page that has the Psalm (or featured verses from the Psalm) and the next has a devotional and prayer.

There are three CDs at the book of the book. They have a famous actor reading a different psalm, as well as another man reading each devotional. Each track featured a soft instrumental background, which made the tracks very relaxing and calming. It was nice to have both a variety of psalms, as well as variety of actors. Each added their unique tone of voice to the psalm, which was perfectly matched. My personal favorite reading was Psalm 139, which is the longest psalm. It featured many actors and actresses reading, because of the length. It showcased their talents and what they brought to the table as readers.

The set is designed so that it can be listened to and read at once or done seperately. I listened to the CD’s on their own and really enjoyed it. They were calming and peaceful, as I listened to them at night. This set is of great quality and one that I deeply enjoyed.

*disclaimer* I received this book for free from Thomas Nelson as a member of their Book Review Blogger program.
