For These Tough Times is a book that is small in size (about 80 pages), however, its impact is large. In the pages Max Lucado asks “Where is God in our tragedy?”
In the light of our recent economic troubles, this is a book that could bring comfort to many. It speaks of God and his love in a way that people need to hear during these times.
The first chapter is short and called Where is God? It focuses on pointing out that God’s way are not our ways. While we may see things one way, he sees them from a different prospective.
The second chapter focuses on The Love of God. I read this chapter while listening to “You are on our Side” by Bethany Dillon. It was the perfect fit. This chapter asks the question, Will God ever stop loving me, even after all that I have done?
And these are just the first two chapters!
During these times of unrest in the world we have more questions then answers. We wonder, where God is in the midst of our troubles? In this book, Max Lucado answers questions pointing back to God and his sovereignty. He encourages readers to keep their eyes on God. It is a great book that is small and easy to read. Be sure to pick it up!
